Welcome

Welcome and thank you for blessing me with your time as you check out my “Empowered Journeys” Blog! My goal is to post updates that will inspire others to see all of the beautiful things around them, especially when it feels challenging to do so.

I invite you to come along on this journey with me as I begin traveling around the United States allowing my internal Guide to direct my path!

How this all started…

Around October 2010 I had this feeling that my life was about to take a major shift around the New Year. The New Year came and went. Situations in my life had certainly changed but not in the direction that left me feeling I was on the correct path. I found myself questioning that feeling I had just a few months ago.

I began to feel this tug at my heart that it was time to “go.”

“Go where I asked?”

My Guide said, “Just listen to each step I give you and you will know along the way.”

I was thinking, “Well this should be interesting!”

The first step I was given was to get my personal belongings in order and dispose of anything that was past time to let go of.

I began to work through the process while things in my personal life became a little hectic and I found myself pushing aside my instructions. As I did so I noticed my Guide speak to me again, “You can make this difficult, or We can make this easy.”

So back to work I went on getting things sorted and finished. My next step was to begin packing.

“Ok, GREAT!! I love traveling! Where am I going?”

“You’ll know along the way.”

I thought this definitely sounded like an exciting adventure!

Well, as many of us often do, we begin to listen and then become side tracked. What you should know is I have been working towards getting my Life Coaching practice started and have been researching quite a few people that could possibly teach/mentor me in this process. So here I go again, off on my own side road thinking about my financial situation, what loans could I get to hire a business consultant, etc.

About this time a lot of personal stuff started coming up and hitting from various sides. I sat there thinking, “Why is everything feeling like it’s going in such an upside down direction?”

Then of course there was my Guide again, “I warned you this could either be difficult or easy.”

I realized that each time I began to sway off of my path that there was some pain associated with doing so. At first not too intense, but the more I made excuses or thought I could try a different approach, the pain became a little more intense. You can call it pain or a pinch – basically whatever it takes to get your attention to let you know you went the wrong direction again. You’ll eventually fine tune your listening capabilities to avoid experiencing that displeasure!

I sat down and started looking at what I was told several months ago and again at the New Year. I realized I needed to spend more time meditating and LISTENING instead of “trying to make things work” or getting sidetracked.

I began to make plans to start my trip for the next couple of months and see where it leads. The only portions of my trip that I “planned” were places or events that I had already scheduled to attend. If that gets changed along the way then so be it – life is all about change and being able to recalibrate. I believe in a saying my mom taught us, “This or something better.” Always be looking for the greater good of a situation. When one thing doesn’t work out the way you had envisioned then open your eyes and ears to see what you are supposed to be learning/experiencing instead.

I realized that my trip needed to have two important pieces linked to it – intention and gratitude.

My intention for this trip is to meet someone new each day through whatever opportunities are presented. Learn something about them and let them know who I am. I will then express my gratitude for them sharing their time with me and write a short blog post about them and add a couple of pictures when possible.

This journey will begin on February 5, 2010. First scheduled stop is Phoenix to see a friend from my childhood years that I reconnected with a couple of years ago thanks to
Facebook.

Thank you again for your interest in following this exciting time in my life! My prayer is that through my experiences many people will be touched and receive whatever blessings they may need at this point of their life.

Sláinte & Be Blessed!
